Described as "a writer's writer", Halifax native Susan Crowe has released four critically acclaimed CDs. She’s been nominated for two Juno Awards, as well as West Coast, and East Coast Music Awards. She is a recipient of Music Nova Scotia’s Female Artist of the Year award, and a Women of Excellence award.
Repeat invitations to the major Canadian folk festivals and performances in concert venues across the country have earned her the reputation of being “marvellously literate in plumbing this vale of tears (with) an instinctive understanding of the song craft” (John P McLaughlin – Vancouver Sun). Touring has included the United States (including the prestigious Kerrville Songwriter’s Festival) and central Europe.
Her work was described this way in The Halifax Daily News: “This is subtle, intelligent music that draws in the listener with its alluring complexity.” And this from the Vancouver Sun: "With one of the most distinctive voices in Canada today, she is destined to become one of our lasting folk heroines".
