Raylene Rankin Bio

Raylene's career as a performer began as a member of the acclaimed "Rankin Family".  In addition to touring internationally, the celebrated Rankin Family released several critically successful and award winning recordings that cemented The Rankin Family’s place in history of Canadian music.

After touring the band's seventh recording "Uprooted", Raylene took some well-earned time to raise her family. In 2003 she embarked on a solo career with the release "Lambs In Spring". This recording garnered an ECMA nomination and the opportunity to again tour the country as a solo performer.

In 2007 Raylene reunited with her siblings Cookie, Heather and Jimmy to record their first full length cd in ten years aptly entitled "Reunion" with which again took them across the country performing to sold out audiences.

Raylene maintains her familial connection with a yearly Christmas show, which unites her with sisters Cookie and Heather.  And...if you drop in to Red Shoe Pub in Mabou (owned by the sisters) you might catch an impromptu performance by the three.

Throughout the past decade - beyond her solo appearances - Raylene has shared the stage happily with luminaries like Archie Fisher, the Chieftains, David Francey, and the band Beolach.

Raylene's latest musical venture is this collaboration with Susan and Cindy as part of the Rankin Church & Crowe trio.
